GIANTS SIGN PAIR, ROSTER APPEARS SET |
The San Francisco Giants signed their two targets early in the free agency period and appear to be done their shopping already.
The Giants signed infielders Wendell Walton and Jeff Abbott to contracts, which may have some peers raising their eyebrows. The pair's power, however, is exactly what the Giants were looking for.
"We're entering an offseason where we let Jack Shain and Vaughn Hays go," said GM Jared Book. "Looking at our team, we needed guys who could hit for power and drive in runs. Jeff and Wendell fill that void and more importantly won't cost us draft picks."
In the HBL's new era of fiscal responsibility, the commitment per year will be just around $5 million with Walton's deal for one year and Abbott's for ...

The Cleveland Indians have sported one of the best records in baseball since after the first two series in which Cleveland started off 2-4. They then took off, only having one below average month (13-15 June). Cleveland made a deadline trade involving one of the top pitching prospects in the league in Andy Ash. They traded him to the hated Yankees for; catching stud Joe Welty, hitting short Tak Murayama, setup man Mel Buckner, and backup utility infielder Michael O'Killeen. Welty, a 23 year old catcher. He lacks plate dicipline at times, at others (such as his first 6 with Cleveland) he puts them into the 2nd deck. Cleveland was unsure of his ability until he walked off the phone and asked the owner how many homeruns he would like hi ...

THREE ARMS ON THE RISE IN HOUSTON FARM |
Astro fans have been driving around Texas, flocking in droves to places like Round Rock and Corpus Christie, to see the future of the Astros rotation, and they have not been disappointed yet.
Alan Wood, Edgar Rodriguez, and Otis Walters have been watched very closely by the Astro organization since they were drafted in 2032 and 2033. Alan was taken 2nd pick overall in 2022, and Edgar and Otis were selected in the second rounds of 2032 and 2033 respectively. It seems that the Astro focus on starting pitching those years is paying some dividends.
Alan Wood recently joined AAA Round Rock after posting a 2.33 ERA and 1.01 WHIP in seven early season starts in AA. Since joining the Express, Alan has showed promise, posting a 3. ...

IT IS HOT IN VEGAS! |
Prior to the season, people were predicting the Las Vegas Kings would be improved this year, but little did anyone expect that half way through May they would be tied for the league in both the AL West and AL Wild Card! And would you believe they are accomplishing all of this with Jack Blake, their big free agent signing, hitting only .213 which is over 100 points below his career average! To top that off, two of their other bigger bats Heywood Martin and Manuel Fernandez have both spent time on the Disabled List.
Since the season has started tho, the Kings have made two moves to improve their team. The first was a deal landing Gold Glove and on base specialist Jesus Moran from the Oakland. And while that deal has not quite worked ...

R U SURE I'M IN THE MAJORS? |

Cleveland Indians Rookie Greg 'Rocky' Griffin has been anything but rocky this season. He is 4-1 in 6 starts with a tiny 1.25ERA(1). In 43.1 innings(19) this year he has 40ks(4). The jury is still out on the actual record. But, Indians growing star has throw 21.2 straight shutout innings this season which spans 3 starts.
He still has a long way to go in the season and his career, but the floodgates have opened and if your a hitter you need to get to high waters! ...

LAS VEGAS ROLLING THE DICE! |
"We have a lot to be excited for here in Las Vegas, it seems like we've been laying the ground work for this team for some time now. Finally, we feel things are about to pick up and we are very excited for what is in our future" said the owner of the Kings in a press conference announcing the recent signings of Jack Blake and Suzusaburou 'Thunder' Sotan.
The Kings have a very solid foundation this year when you look at them on paper. They have all the basic tools. They have speed, they have a tremendous fielding team at every position, Jack Blake gives them a legitimate #3 hitter in the middle of the lineup. However, the main question will be the pitching.
The Kings will go into Spring Training looking at three rookies fo ...

BOTTOM TO THE TOP OF THE ROAD |
It won't happen easy, it won't happen quick. But the Cleveland Indians are slowly turning it around. The Indians already believe that will have 3 players in the ROY voting next season as Griffin (10-7-5) was 12-7 with a 2.19ERA last season, Carlos Torres (10-7-4) had a 3.5 era for both AA and AAA, John Rowe (7-9-4), Bill Cantrell (8-9-3-6-10) 73rbis in AAA, and glove wizard 3B Dan Coldiron (7-8-3-5-6) will all make the call for HBL ball this coming season.
Will the Indians get into the playoffs or series? Probably not, but looking at what they are calling up they certainly will be a ton better tallent wise.
This Indians team could still be worthy of a top ten pick in next years draft, but that will probably be pick 10. ...

5 REASONS THE ANGELS WON'T SUCK NEXT YEAR |
The 2034 season marked the sixth straight year that Anaheim failed to make the playoffs, a far cry from the success the club enjoyed from 2016-2025, when they made the playoffs 9 times in 10 seasons. While the club isn't quite ready to contend for a championship yet, here are five reasons why next season could be a better won in Anaheim.
1. Andy Brophy is finally realizing his massive potential.
When Brophy started the year with a .234 avg, 2 hr and 8 rbi in 64 at bats before rupturing a tendon in his left foot, many in the Angels front office wondered if it was time to give up on him. Those people are probably feeling pretty foolish now. Brophy homered in his first game off the disabled list (July 31st) and hasn't look ...
