The Cleveland Indians started the FA season with a ton of cash & a lot of fans rooting for the once great tribe to get back in it. Riddle told everyone we folded once, see the top of the division & you will see the Indians next season. They started off by retaining a few of Former Indians
1. DH/1B John Adkins - he was plagued by injury when the Indians signed him mid season. He was awful, he admitted he was not in shape to play ball. This is a statement season.
2. IF Pedro Alvarado - Not what he once was, but his work ethic is unseen. With the ALC being the throwup division, he comes to show out.
3. SP Philip Cale - Signed as a Minor League SP, he bring the ability to start at hte ML Level.
4. Bill James - Has a tough season, who doesn't. The Indians have bolstered their Defense as well as offense this season. This guy will be #3 in a very nice rotation. Watch & see!
5. Marvin Merchant - He still can hit 21. The Indians will probably put him in the 9 slot to take advantage of his excessive speed & ability to draw the walk.
6. Paul Palomo - Not a terrible pitcher, he can still get it done in middle/long relief.
The Indians also brough in a GAME MAKER;
Keith NUKE Holman! Everyone said that Riddle 'Couldn't make' Jeffery Johnson into a 200ip a year pitcher. Was told that it would be 'Suprising'. He now has 4 seasons in a row with 200+ ip. He just signed a 13.5x4 year contract extension with the Pirates. Seal it make it, ship it, IM it, whatever you think you need to do. Holman will get 200ip & be successful.
There are also other players, call 'GAME BREAKERS', The Indians have signed those as well;
1. Nobuatsu Sato - Quitely hit over 300 jacks in Nippon. Had an injury shorened season in which he broke his 4 season 100 RBI 90run streak.
2. GEORGE GUZMAN! - Mr. You better make a hall of fame pitch if you want to get me out Guzman because thats where he is headed when he calls it quits. He is the BEST pure hitter of all time, hands down. He will eclipse 3000 hits around his 40th Bday. He will be the first player in HBL/MLB history to have 3000 hits & 2300 walks, Riddle said it first.
Watch the Indians, it will be pants peeing exciting!
